DfES PSHE & C/SRE certification programme (2005-06)
Teachers are currently being recruited to participate on the 2005/06 DfES PSHE & C/SRE certification course.
If you have a responsibility for coordinating sex & relationships education in your school, you might wish to consider participating on the 2005-06 DfES PSHE & C/SRE programme.
This is a nationally recognised programme that gives teachers from primary, secondary and special schools the opportunity to gain accreditation for excellence in the subject of PSHE & C/SRE.
We are currently looking to recruit interested teachers who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of this subject, to work alongside colleagues from other schools and health professionals.
There are considerable benefits for teachers that take up a place on this course including;
* National accreditation for contribution and excellence achieved on
completion of the SRE programme
* Development of strategies to support the implementation of SRE
in schools
* Sharing of good practice with colleagues
* Provision of support materials that will assist in developing
teacher knowledge and understanding of subject
* The opportunity to develop a scheme of work for sex &
relationships education that will bring many benefits to the
school, pupils and teachers respectively.
There will be invitations, along with course details sent to all schools over the next month. If you would like the opportunity to join us on this years course,begining in April 2005, or require further information, please contact:

Healthy Eating Guidelines

It is important that schools develop a policy about how the principles of a balanced and varied diet are supported in the school. The policy will underpin the development of a consistent approach to food and nutrition, in relation to both food provision and the planned programme (curriculum). The policy must be shared with parents and pupils.
