The conference was very well attended by a variety of Gateshead schools along with a huge number of health, local authority and voluntary sector partners.  There was also a market stall element held over the lunchtime period to create a great networking and information sharing opportunity between school staff and other professionals.

Both Gateshead Healthy Schools Anti Bullying Competition winners and runner ups and Healthy Schools Awards were presented to children, young people and school staff by Carole Wood, Director of Public Health and Councillor Angela Douglas, Cabinet Member for Children & Young People.

We would like to thank everyone who joined us for a fantastic event, we are looking forward to our next event planned for Wednesday 3rd July 2013 at Dryden Centre from 12-4pm.

Gateshead Healthy Schools are looking forward to seeing Gateshead Schools enjoy an informative and celebratory conference.  This day will include speakers from a number of health partners, feedback on the recent Health Related Behaviour Questionnaire, Healthy Schools and Anti-Bullying Competition Awards, Schools Good Practice Sharing, Information Market Stall and more..

The deadline for receiving entries is Friday 7^th December 2012

Judging will take place in December to choose a Primary School and Secondary School winner and runner up.  These will be publicly awarded at Gateshead Healthy Schools Conference Day on 30^th January 2013 @ Dryden Centre.  It is hoped these designs can continue to be used to highlight the anti-bullying work within schools in Gateshead throughout the year.

As the new Gateshead Healthy Schools programme enters it’s second year, we now have all Gateshead schools engaged on the programme which shows the tremendous enthusiasm that our schools have for the programme.
