S.H.A.R.E. Seminar - Wednesday 29th June 2005

A seminar will be held at Dryden P.D.Centre on Wednesday 29th June 2005, to celebrate the success so far achieved by the S.HA.R.E. (Sex, Health & Relationships Education) programme.

Eight primary schools have piloted the programme over current year and SRE Coordinators from each of these will be providing an insight into the development and delivery of the programme via a short presentation.

Much of the seminar will be dedicated to providing an overview of the S.H.A.R.E. programme and how it can be delivered in schools. However, another important aspect of the agenda will be to give interested headteachers and SRE coordinators from other schools the opportunity to discuss the programme with teaching staff from the pilot schools.

We hope that the seminar will be attended by headteachers and SRE coordinators from schools that might be interested in starting the programme from September 2005.

Information is currently being sent out to schools about this seminar and teachers interested in attending must book their place via the reply sip attached to the forthcoming letter of invitation.

We are delighted with the response that the S.H.A.R.E. programme is receiving from teachers, health advisers and LEA advisers and we wish to continue this support to all schools across Gateshead.

We will also be recruiting at this event for September 2005, and any schools interested in delivering the S.H.A.R.E. programme to compliment there PSHE/SRE curriculum can get more information from Nick Mawson (SRE Health Development Officer) or Alun Davies (Health Education Adviser).
